Message on World TB Day 2026

On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day 2026, under the theme “Yes! We Can End TB! Led by countries, powered by people”, the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) extends its heartfelt appreciation to all MBBS students who enthusiastically participated in the National-Level TB Awareness Short Video Competition.
This year, the competition witnessed an overwhelming response with 98 entries from 24 states across India, reflecting the creativity, commitment, and public health awareness among future medical professionals. As emphasized by IAPSM leadership, empowering young doctors is crucial in strengthening India’s fight against tuberculosis and sustaining the momentum towards TB elimination.
After rigorous evaluation, we are pleased to announce the winners:
- 1st Position: Team led by Sarandip Das, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal (Manipur)
- 2nd Position: Team led by Ajinkya Ankush Tandale, MGM Medical College and Hospital, Maharashtra)
- 3rd Position: Team led by Mitrajit Patowary, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune (Maharashtra)
The winners will be awarded cash prizes of ₹25,000, ₹15,000, and ₹10,000, respectively, along with certificates of recognition.
We congratulate all participants for their outstanding efforts in spreading awareness about TB prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment adherence. Your contributions are instrumental in building a TB-free India.
