A potentially tragic incident was averted at the Rani Dhanraj Kunwar Community Health Centre in Korba, Chhattisgarh, after a fire broke out on the facility’s second floor early Thursday morning. Thanks to the prompt action of hospital staff and emergency services, all patients were safely evacuated, and no casualties were reported.
Block Medical Officer Dr. Deepak Raj confirmed that while some medical equipment and hospital records were damaged in the blaze, the situation was quickly brought under control. Smoke was first detected emanating from the second floor, prompting an immediate alert to the fire brigade. The health centre’s own fire extinguishers, along with the efforts of emergency responders, played a critical role in containing the fire before it could spread further.
