Researchers Find Promise in Basic Saliva Test for Early Detection of Cardiovascular Disease Risk

A recent study has indicated that a straightforward saliva test might hold the key to identifying the initial indicators of cardiovascular disease. Scientists have pinpointed a connection between elevated levels of white blood cells in the saliva of young and healthy individuals and an early warning sign of cardiovascular issues.

By employing a simple oral rinse, the researchers aimed to establish a correlation between levels of white blood cells, which signify gum inflammation, in the saliva of healthy adults and potential markers for cardiovascular disease warnings.
