WHO is hosting the Emergency Trauma Bag Training of Trainers (ETB ToT), a component of the UNDSS First Responder Programme. This course equips participants with essential emergency medical skills to provide life-saving care when professional medical care is not immediately available.

Why Attend?

This training empowers participants with both life-saving techniques and effective teaching methods. Participants will be able to train others, helping to build local capacity in high-risk and remote UN duty stations worldwide.

Delivered with support from the MSB Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, the course prepares participants to act decisively in crisis situation.

Highlights

  • Hands-on training tailored for non-medical staff, combining interactive discussions with practical exercises;
  • Qualify participants to be first responders able to provide trauma first aid and lifesaving care for catastrophic bleeding and airway control in the first 10 minutes of injury;
  • Administer advanced resuscitation and treatment within the first hour until the casualty reaches the next level of medical care;
  • Instruct participants on the Emergency Trauma Bag’s contents so they can confidently use the ETB for specialized first aid;
  • Train participants to effectively respond to a Mass Casualty Incident as a UNSMS First Responder;
  • Provide teaching and facilitating methods in order to confidently relay information to a group of adult learners.
