According to Goyal, over 20,000 delivery partners have undergone professional first-responder training as part of the initiative. Despite not receiving any financial benefits, more than one lakh delivery partners have expressed interest in receiving this critical training, demonstrating their commitment to community welfare.

“Few months back, we launched India’s first ‘Emergency Heroes’ programme to provide professional first-responder training to our delivery partners. Happy to announce that we now have 20,000+ delivery partners across 31 cities, fully equipped to provide medical aid in roadside emergencies,” Goyal stated in his post.

He further emphasized the positive impact of the program, noting instances where trained delivery partners have already offered assistance and medical aid in various roadside emergencies.

The announcement garnered praise from Ronnie Screwvala, serial investor, and Co-founder/Chairperson of edtech platform upGrad, who hailed the initiative as “Innovation with Impact.”

Amidst this initiative’s success, Zomato has reported a noteworthy financial performance in the third quarter (Q3) of the current financial year. Its consolidated adjusted revenue also witnessed a remarkable 53% year-on-year growth, reaching Rs 3,609 crore in Q3 FY24.

Zomato’s dual success in both financial performance and community welfare initiatives underscores its commitment to innovation, societal impact, and corporate responsibility. With its delivery partners now doubling as ‘Emergency Heroes,’ the company sets a precedent for leveraging its platform to enhance public safety and well-being while continuing to excel in its core business operations.
