New Delhi, January 4: Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar today inaugurated two IoT-integrated mobile clinics under Aster DM Healthcare’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. These state-of-the-art clinics are set to serve Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) and Kalaburagi (Karnataka), embodying a significant step toward accessible and affordable healthcare in remote regions.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the Vice-President highlighted the transformative impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s healthcare initiatives. “Quality healthcare, accessible healthcare, and affordable healthcare have been the guiding principles of the Prime Minister’s mission,” said Shri Dhankhar, adding that the Ayushman Bharat Yojana has provided financial relief to millions by offering free treatment of up to ₹5 lakh per family annually.
The Vice-President emphasized that healthcare infrastructure has witnessed exponential growth under the current government, noting, “From doubling the number of medical colleges to expanding diagnostic facilities in rural areas, India’s healthcare ecosystem has evolved to ensure that even the remotest corners of the country receive timely and quality medical services.”
Ayushman Bharat Yojana: A Game-Changer
Lauding the success of Ayushman Bharat, Shri Dhankhar remarked that it is among the world’s largest healthcare programs, significantly easing the fiscal burden on Indian families. He also pointed out that allied initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the provision of potable water in every household have strengthened the foundation of public health in the country.
Harnessing Technology for Healthcare
Shri Dhankhar praised India’s achievements in leveraging technology to enhance healthcare accessibility. “The Government of India has pioneered telemedicine and digital diagnostics, making advanced medical care accessible even in villages,” he noted, adding that the nation’s digital penetration has earned global praise for its reach and efficiency.
The newly launched IoT-integrated mobile clinics are an embodiment of this technological leap. Equipped with telemedicine capabilities, these clinics will enable real-time consultations and diagnostics for underserved communities.
Healthcare as a Pillar of National Growth
The Vice-President underscored that a healthy population is essential for India’s ambition of becoming a developed nation by 2047. “A Fit India is foundational to achieving this vision,” he said, emphasizing the importance of early detection, prompt treatment, and doorstep delivery of medical services.
He also highlighted India’s achievements on the global stage, referring to the country’s position as the “pharmacy of the world” and its recognition for pharmaceutical innovation and production.
Mobile Clinics: Bridging Gaps in Healthcare Access
The deployment of these mobile clinics reflects the collaborative effort of the government and the private sector to ensure last-mile delivery of healthcare services. “To have a mobile clinic within reach is a great assurance to people in distress,” said Shri Dhankhar, commending Aster DM Healthcare for its commitment to social responsibility.
A Vision for the Future
The Vice-President concluded by expressing confidence in India’s trajectory, stating, “Our journey from a nation of potential to a nation on the rise is evident in our economic growth, digital prowess, and healthcare advancements. Together, we are building a healthier and stronger Bharat.”
