Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the state is on track to achieve its ambitious ‘one district, one medical college’ initiative in the near future. Addressing a gathering at the BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur on Saturday, the Chief Minister underscored his administration’s commitment to bolstering healthcare infrastructure across the state.

During his visit, CM Adityanath highlighted the importance of enhancing the quality of research, innovation, and technical skills among medical professionals to improve the overall healthcare system. His remarks came as he distributed 483 laptops to MBBS students and paramedical staff under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme, a move aimed at advancing digital education and resources in the medical field.

CM Adityanath announced the establishment of new medical colleges in Ballia and Balrampur, with plans to inaugurate academic sessions in Shamli and Sambhal later this year. These developments are part of a broader strategy to increase the number of medical institutions and improve access to quality healthcare across Uttar Pradesh.

The state is set to offer 10,500 MBBS seats this year, a significant increase that reflects the ongoing efforts to expand medical education and training. During his visit, the Chief Minister also toured the medical and pediatric wards at BRD Medical College, engaging with patients and their families to gather feedback on the current healthcare services.

CM Adityanath praised the medical community for their dedication and urged them to focus on continual technical improvement to enhance their outreach and effectiveness. He also acknowledged the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who facilitated the establishment of a super-specialty hospital for Japanese Encephalitis treatment and a regional unit of the Indian Council of Medical Research.

With these initiatives, Uttar Pradesh aims to transform its healthcare landscape, ensuring that every district benefits from accessible and high-quality medical education and services.
