New Delhi, February 4, 2025 – The Government of India’s ambitious Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) has reached a significant milestone, with over 73.90 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs created as of February 3, 2025. This initiative aims to build a national digital health ecosystem, providing every citizen with a 14-digit Unique Health Identifier to facilitate seamless access to healthcare services.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has implemented an extensive media and outreach campaign to ensure eligible beneficiaries are well-informed about their entitlements and rights under the scheme. The strategy includes various Information, Education & Communication (IEC) activities, such as:

  • Outdoor media displays at key public locations
  • Digital messaging at railway ticket counters and bus stations
  • Announcements on passenger trains
  • National and regional press coverage
  • Radio campaigns and television broadcasts of beneficiary testimonials
  • Mass SMS messaging to targeted populations
  • Traditional and social media engagement

The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, shared this update in a written reply in the Lok Sabha yesterday, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility through digital solutions.

The ABDM initiative seeks to revolutionize healthcare in India by providing a secure and efficient digital platform for storing and accessing health records, ensuring better coordination between patients and healthcare providers.
