This year’s Ayurveda Day is set to be celebrated globally in approximately 100 countries around the world. The Ministry of Ayush aims to garner support from all ministries in the country to ensure the success of this event, which will center on the theme of ‘Ayurveda for One Health’. A meeting was convened by the Ministry of Ayush, chaired by Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, to coordinate efforts for the upcoming Ayurveda Day scheduled on Dhanvantari Jayanti, 10th November 2023.
During the meeting, representatives from various ministries shared their perspectives with the Ministry of Ayush, contributing valuable ideas to make ‘Ayurveda Day’ a resounding triumph. Ministries and departments including Home, Culture, Foreign, Tribal, Water Resources, Science and Technology, and CSIR expressed their commitment to leveraging digital technology and organizing diverse engagement activities to transform ‘Ayurveda Day’ into a global celebration. To ensure the success of this event, each ministry discussed their intended involvement with the Ministry of Ayush.
The Ayush secretary emphasized three key focal points for Ayurveda Day: ‘Ayurveda for students, Ayurveda for farmers, Ayurveda for public health’, all under the overarching message of ‘Ayurveda for everyone every day’. The primary objective of Ayurveda Day is to promote and propagate Ayurveda on an international scale, positioning it prominently in the global context for the well-being of humans, animals, plants, and the environment.
