Veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan recently opened up about a serious health scare he faced during a routine medical checkup. In his first social media post after undergoing angioplasty, Roshan revealed that both his carotid arteries, which supply blood to the brain, were found to be more than 75% blocked—an asymptomatic but potentially dangerous condition.

Discovery and Medical Intervention

During a full-body health screening, a sonographer initially examining Roshan’s heart recommended he also undergo a sonography of his neck. This additional test unveiled significant blockages in both carotid arteries. Understanding the risks involved, Roshan promptly admitted himself to the hospital to undergo preventative angioplasty procedures to clear the arteries.

After the successful intervention, the filmmaker was discharged and is now back home, reporting a full recovery. He expressed optimism about resuming his workout routine soon.

Message on Health Awareness

Rakesh Roshan used his platform to stress the critical importance of regular health screenings, especially for individuals over 45-50 years old. He urged people not to overlook carotid artery sonography, as it can provide early warnings of life-threatening conditions. He emphasized that prevention is far better than cure and hoped that his experience inspires others to prioritize heart and brain health.

Reactions from Friends and Family

Roshan’s post received warm reactions from friends and family within the entertainment industry:

  • Actor Anil Kapoor responded with fire and fist emojis.

  • Sussanne Khan, ex-wife of Roshan’s son Hrithik Roshan, shared a red heart, folded hands, and fist emojis.

  • Actor Suniel Shetty posted red heart, fire, nazar amulet, and folded hands emojis.

  • Actor Tiger Shroff commented, “Looking great, sir.”

Additionally, Roshan’s daughter, Sunaina Roshan, had earlier reassured fans about her father’s condition, stating he was “perfectly fine” following the angioplasty and was resting comfortably.
