Amid a notable increase in diarrhoea cases across the state, the Odisha government has launched a comprehensive campaign to curb the further spread of the disease. The initiative, titled “Stop Diarrhoea,” focuses on raising public awareness and promoting preventive measures to protect communities, especially children and vulnerable populations.

Health officials have highlighted the critical importance of personal hygiene, clean drinking water, and proper sanitation as key strategies to prevent diarrhoea outbreaks. The campaign includes extensive public education efforts, distribution of oral rehydration solutions (ORS), and zinc supplements to affected areas. The Health Minister stressed the urgency of community participation and urged residents to adopt safe hygiene practices to safeguard their health.

The government has mobilized health workers and volunteers to visit households, schools, and public places to educate people about the causes and prevention of diarrhoea. Special attention is being given to rural and underserved regions where access to clean water and healthcare is limited.

This proactive approach aims to reduce the incidence of diarrhoea-related illnesses and fatalities, ensuring a healthier future for Odisha’s residents.
