In a significant move aimed at enhancing transparency and streamlining information dissemination, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has officially announced the appointment of new Central Public Information Officers (CPIOs) and First Appellate Authorities (FAAs) across its four autonomous boards and various administrative sections.

Key Appointments Across NMC Boards

According to the office order dated May 2, 2025, the following appointments have been made:

Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB)

  • CPIO: Smt. Leena George (Under Secretary)

  • FAA: Sh. Sukh Lal Meena (Director)

Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB)

  • CPIO: Smt. Rita Singh (Under Secretary)

  • FAA: Sh. C.K. Ramaswamy (Director)

Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB)

  • UG-MARB CPIO: Sh. Pankaj Kumar (Under Secretary)

  • PG-MARB CPIO: Sh. Subodh Kumar (Under Secretary)

  • UG-MARB FAA: Sh. Anupam Anish Chauhan (Deputy Secretary)

  • PG-MARB FAA: Sh. Arun Kumar Singh (Director)

Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB)

  • Registration CPIO: Sh. Manish Kumar Mittal (Under Secretary)

  • Ethics CPIO: Sh. Subodh Kumar (Under Secretary)

  • Registration FAA: Sh. Ashok Kumar (Director)

  • Ethics FAA: Sh. Dharmender (Deputy Secretary)

Expanded Coverage in Administrative Sections

Beyond the autonomous boards, the NMC has also designated CPIOs and FAAs for several administrative divisions, including:

  • Establishment Section

  • Dak Section

  • General Administration

  • Accounts Section

  • Policy & Coordination Section

  • Vigilance Section

  • IT Section

For instance, Anamika Singh (Section Officer) will serve as CPIO for both the Establishment and Dak Sections, with Namrata Kumari (Under Secretary) as the FAA for these sections.

RTI Handling Streamlined

The NMC’s office order further clarifies that RTIs concerning the Legal Division, Publication Division, and Hindi Cell will be managed by the Nodal Officer of the RTI Cell, Smt. Namrata Kumari, in consultation with the respective divisions.
