Madhyamgram, India – Deepak Parekh-backed Nephro Care India Limited (NCIL) has introduced its flagship health and wellness initiative, ‘Mukti,’ at Vivacity Multispeciality Hospital in Madhyamgram. Aimed at fostering overall well-being, the programme seamlessly integrates ancient yogic wisdom with modern medical science to provide holistic healthcare solutions.

Mukti, which has been in existence for a decade, has already benefited over 8,000 individuals suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetes, hypertension, and autoimmune disorders. The latest expansion of Mukti features three specialized programmes:

  • Renoguard 360 – Designed for kidney patients and individuals undergoing dialysis.
  • Diaguard 360 – Focused on addressing diabetes-related health concerns.
  • ReShape 360 – A programme dedicated to obesity management through lifestyle modifications.

A Shift from ‘Sick Care’ to Preventive Healthcare

At the launch event, Dr. Pratim Sengupta, Senior Nephrologist and MD & CEO of NCIL, underscored the urgent need for a shift from reactive treatment to preventive healthcare. “Today, healthcare has become ‘sick care,’ where people seek medical attention only when they are ill. Mukti is designed to change this mindset by emphasizing both therapeutic and preventive wellness, ensuring physical and mental well-being,” he remarked.

The programme’s relevance is particularly significant given India’s escalating burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which contribute to 52% of fatalities in the country. With India grappling with an estimated 82 million diabetes cases and an obesity rate of 40.3%, initiatives like Mukti are crucial for addressing lifestyle-related health challenges.

Expanding Holistic Healthcare Accessibility

In an effort to make holistic healthcare more accessible, NCIL is exploring collaborations with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers. The organization aims to expand Mukti through a franchise model, ensuring that more individuals can benefit from its integrative approach to wellness.
