The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the long-awaited results for 75 NEET-UG 2025 candidates from Madhya Pradesh on Monday, July 14, following a protracted legal dispute over examination disruptions. The scores were made available on the official website at 6 pm, and all affected students received individual notifications via email.

This release concludes months of uncertainty for students from Indore and Ujjain, who alleged that power outages during the NEET-UG examination on May 4 had severely impacted their performance. Initially, a single-judge bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court had granted a re-examination; however, that verdict was later overturned by a division bench, instructing the NTA to publish the pending results instead.

Despite finally receiving their marks, many students and parents have expressed disappointment. “The score was around 25% less than what we expected as per her preparations. She had been scoring more than 600 in the mock tests, but the scores she got now are approximately 520,” said Sachin Garg, the father of NEET aspirant Tanishka Garg. Another parent, Ritesh Agarwal, highlighted concerns that many students, who were previously on track for top medical colleges like AIIMS, may now have to settle for less prestigious government institutions.

The NEET-UG exam awards a maximum of 720 marks across 180 multiple-choice questions in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

In response to the results, the affected students, supported by their legal counsel Mradul Bhatnagar, are preparing to move the Supreme Court. They argue that the power outages resulted in a significant and unfair disadvantage, and are seeking a more equitable resolution through legal means.

The counseling process for these candidates is expected to begin on July 21.
