New Delhi: In a compassionate move for the academic year 2025-26, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the allocation of four MBBS seats from the central pool specifically reserved for the spouses and children of civilian victims of terrorism. The decision aims to provide educational support and a measure of solace to families whose lives have been irrevocably affected by acts of terror.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must be the spouse or child of a deceased or disabled civilian who was a victim of terrorism.

The candidate must be at least 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2025, and be an Indian national.
Academic Qualifications

The candidate must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually.

Unreserved and Gen-EWS category candidates require at least 50% marks; SC/ST/OBC candidates require at least 40%.

For Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 45% for Unreserved/Gen-EWS, 40% for SC/ST/OBC in aggregate for the above subjects.

Aspirants must have qualified NEET UG 2025, meeting the minimum percentile stipulated by the National Medical Commission.
Priority for Allocation

Children whose both parents were killed by terrorists.

Children from families where the sole breadwinner was killed in a terrorist attack.

Wards of victims rendered permanently disabled or seriously injured by terrorist activities.
Applications, with all required documentation attested by the State/UT Home Department, must reach the specified MHA office by August 31, 2025. Scanned copies can also be sent via email for quick processing.
