New Delhi, February 17, 2025: The Ministry of Ayush has officially opened nominations for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards (PMYA) 2025. These awards, introduced to honor excellence in the promotion and development of Yoga, will be conferred as part of the International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations in 2025.

The PMYA recognizes individuals and organizations that have made significant and sustained contributions to Yoga, both nationally and internationally. These awards serve to reinforce the importance of Yoga in disease prevention, health promotion, and the management of lifestyle-related disorders. Personally endorsed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the awards highlight the government’s commitment to acknowledging those who have dedicated their lives to the advancement of Yoga.

Award Categories and Criteria

The Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards will be conferred in four categories:

  1. National Individual
  2. National Organization
  3. International Individual
  4. International Organization

Each awardee will receive a Trophy, Certificate, and a Cash Award of Rs. 25 lakh. Eligible individuals must be 40 years or older and should have dedicated at least 20 years to the promotion of Yoga. Entities may apply directly or be nominated by a prominent Yoga organization. Each applicant or nominee can apply for only one category per year (National or International).

Application Process and Deadline

Applications and nominations can be submitted online via the MyGov platform (https://innovateindia.mygov.in/pm-yoga-awards-2025/) until March 31, 2025. The nomination link will also be available on the Ministry of Ayush’s website and those of its autonomous bodies.

Selection Process

A Screening Committee, constituted by the Ministry of Ayush, will evaluate all applications and recommend up to 50 nominees per category to the Evaluation Jury. This Jury, consisting of eminent personalities from various fields, will serve as the final decision-making body for the awards.

Promoting Holistic Well-being

The Ministry of Ayush continues to play a vital role in promoting traditional Indian wellness systems, including Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-rigpa, and Homoeopathy. By integrating these systems into mainstream healthcare, the Ministry aims to enhance holistic well-being across communities.
