Faridabad, March 7 – Meditation, yoga, and fasting are fundamental to preventive healthcare, said Union Minister for Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, on Thursday.
Speaking at a seminar titled “Health Challenges and Healthy Lifestyle,” organized by Arogya Bharti in collaboration with ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Faridabad, Mandaviya underscored the significance of preventive and promotive healthcare in fostering a fit and healthy India.
The Minister emphasized India’s deep-rooted medical traditions, referencing the wisdom of ancient Indian medical pioneers like Charak, Sushruta, and Lord Dhanwantari.
Inauguration of Advanced Medical Facilities
During his visit, Mandaviya inaugurated three state-of-the-art medical facilities at ESIC Medical College, aimed at enhancing healthcare services for insured workers and their families.
The newly launched digital mammography services feature a high-resolution, digital detector-based mammography machine, essential for the early detection and evaluation of breast cancer.
Additionally, the Minister inaugurated the 1000 mA Digital Radiography Fluoroscopy (DRF) system, a modern diagnostic tool designed for high-quality X-ray radiography and fluoroscopic-guided interventions, strengthening diagnostic capabilities at the hospital.
A major technological advancement introduced was the next-generation sequencing (NGS) application, a revolutionary tool for oncology research, RNA sequencing, and pathogen identification. This technology is expected to significantly contribute to precision medicine and enhance research in critical medical fields.
“The addition of these facilities will significantly improve diagnostic and treatment services for insured workers and their dependents, ensuring access to world-class healthcare within the ESIC network,” said the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Focus on Holistic Well-being
The seminar saw enthusiastic participation from doctors, paramedics, medical students, industrial workers, and office bearers of industrial associations and Arogya Bharti, all expressing a shared commitment to preventive healthcare and holistic well-being.
With India taking significant strides in healthcare infrastructure and awareness, experts believe that integrating traditional wellness practices with modern medicine will play a crucial role in shaping a healthier society.
