Medical Colleges in PPP Mode to Operate Under Government Supervision: Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has confirmed that all medical colleges developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model will function under the strict jurisdiction and supervision of the state government. This clarification came during a review meeting held on November 21, 2025, focused on medical and health services development in the state, including a universal health scheme and the Sanjeevani health project.

According to officials, the tendering process for new medical colleges in locations including Adoni, Markapuram, Madanapalli, and Pulivendula is expected to conclude by December 2025. Naidu directed officials to expedite this process for timely completion to strengthen rural healthcare infrastructure.

Sanjeevani Health Project and Universal Health Coverage

The Sanjeevani project was highlighted as a transformative pilot healthcare initiative to be launched initially in Kuppam and later expanded across Chittoor district starting January 1, 2026. This project involves digitization of health records for every individual to enable better public health monitoring.
