In the wake of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2025 results, a recent poll conducted by Shiksha.com has highlighted a significant trend: over 70% of respondents reported securing an All India Rank (AIR) above 50,000. The poll, conducted after the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced results on June 14, underscores the intense competition and the challenging nature of this year’s examination.
Key Poll Findings:
-
Rank Distribution: The majority of poll participants indicated their rank was above 50,000, with the next largest group falling in the 10,001 to 50,000 range. Only 6% of respondents reported being in the top 1,000, while 4% each fell in the 1,000–5,000 and 5,001–10,000 brackets.
-
Candidate Sentiment: When asked about their satisfaction with the results, only 16% said they met their expectations. Another 28% cleared the cut-off but expressed disappointment, and the largest share—33%—were not satisfied, having failed to clear the cut-off.
-
Exam Difficulty: The widespread dissatisfaction is attributed to the high difficulty level of the NEET 2025 paper. This led to a lower cut-off compared to previous years. Notably, no candidate achieved the perfect score of 720; the highest recorded score was 686.
Next Steps for Aspirants:
With results now declared, the focus shifts to the NEET 2025 counselling process, expected to commence in July or August. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will oversee the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, while state authorities will manage the remaining 85% of seats.
