The Mahakumbh 2025 is set to make history by not only being a significant religious and cultural event but also by breaking world records. A key highlight of this year’s festivities will be the groundbreaking ‘Netra Kumbh’ initiative, an eye-testing camp aimed at improving vision and healthcare for millions. The ambitious project will see more than five lakh individuals undergo eye examinations, with a goal of distributing three lakh pairs of spectacles throughout the course of the event.
The ‘Netra Kumbh’ camp, sprawling across approximately 10 acres in Sector 5 near Nagvasuki, is expected to attract thousands of pilgrims, visitors, and medical professionals. This massive undertaking will be officially inaugurated on January 5, 2025, by renowned religious figures including Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj of the Juna Akhara, with Gaurang Prabhu Ji Maharaj and Dr. Krishna Gopal Ji slated as special guests and keynote speakers for the occasion.
This ambitious initiative is set to achieve a remarkable milestone by securing a place in the Guinness Book of World Records, after already being recognized in the Limca Book of World Records in previous years. The ‘Netra Kumbh’ aims to provide comprehensive eye care to millions, with the support of over 240 hospitals from across India and 140 doctors volunteering their services.
Organizers have made special arrangements for the accommodation and dietary needs of both medical professionals and attendees, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation throughout the event. With the collaborative efforts of healthcare experts and volunteers, ‘Netra Kumbh’ is expected to make a lasting impact on public health while setting new benchmarks for large-scale medical camps.
