Long COVID isn’t “one thing.” A major new analysis of nearly 3,700 adults finds it can follow 8 different symptom paths, from constantly severe to gradually improving or even worsening many months after infection. About 10% had long COVID at 3 months, and 4 in 5 of them were still dealing with symptoms a year later.
Translation: if you’re still unwell months after COVID, you’re not alone—and doctors are getting better at mapping these patterns so care and support can be more tailored over time.
