May 15, 2025 – Television personality and former glamour model Katie Price has spoken candidly about her struggles with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), revealing that she requires an “appropriate adult” to accompany her when signing important documents due to difficulties with concentration and understanding.

Price, 46, was diagnosed with ADHD in 2023 after her mother, Amy, noticed her daughter’s erratic and impulsive behavior. The diagnosis came following a private assessment, which confirmed that Price has a “severe” form of the condition. ADHD is estimated to affect around 2.6 million people in the United Kingdom, according to NHS figures.

Challenges with Focus and Official Matters

Speaking on the “We Need to Talk” podcast with Paul C Brunson, Price explained how her ADHD impacts her daily life, particularly when it comes to handling official paperwork. “I have to have an appropriate adult with stuff, if it’s court and stuff. Because I can’t concentrate,” she said. Price described how she often puts off reading important documents, including those related to her bankruptcy court case, because she finds it difficult to focus and understand the content.

“I read it all and then get bored or start thinking about something else. I find it hard to focus on forms,” Price admitted. She also shared that her diagnosis has led to the requirement of having someone present during official proceedings to ensure she fully understands and processes the information.

The Road to Diagnosis

Price credited her mother for encouraging her to seek help after noticing her daughter’s “erratic” behavior. “My mum kept saying to me, ‘You always…even when you’re sitting there, move around a lot, you’re quite erratic and you’re impulsive,’” Price recalled. After her mother booked a private ADHD test, Price received her diagnosis, which she says has helped her better understand and manage her symptoms.

On another podcast, “So Wrong It’s Right” with Olivia Attwood, Price described herself as “impulsive and chaotic,” but noted that understanding her condition has allowed her to better control her reactions in challenging situations.

Understanding ADHD

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by symptoms such as inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. According to the NHS, common signs include being easily distracted or forgetful, struggling to organize time, and finding it hard to follow instructions or finish tasks. Hyperactive and impulsive symptoms may include restlessness, excessive talking, and making hasty decisions.

Most people with ADHD experience a combination of these symptoms, though some may only display one type.

Seeking Help for ADHD

The NHS advises anyone who suspects they may have ADHD to consult their GP, who can refer them for an assessment. While waiting for a diagnosis, symptoms may be managed through lifestyle changes such as regular exercise, a balanced diet, and sufficient sleep. Support from friends and family can also be beneficial.
