The signing ceremony, which took place in Delhi, saw the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Indonesian Ministry of Health come together to sign an MoU on Health Cooperation, aimed at enhancing the healthcare systems of both nations. Another important agreement was in the field of Traditional Medicine, with the Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine and Homeopathy under the Ministry of AYUSH collaborating with Indonesia’s Food and Drug Authority on Quality Assurance.
In the maritime security sector, the Indian Coast Guard renewed its MoU with BAKAMLA, the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency, to further enhance cooperation on maritime safety and security.

President Prabowo Subianto is on his first state visit to India and will be gracing the 76th Republic Day celebrations as the Chief Guest at Kartvya Path on Sunday. As part of the celebrations, the Indonesian Military Academy’s 190-member ensemble band, Genderang Suling Canka Lokananta, will perform, showcasing military music traditions and values.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President Subianto at Hyderabad House in Delhi, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Indonesia. Discussions centered on defense, security, maritime cooperation, economic growth, and enhancing people-to-people ties.
President Subianto expressed his admiration for Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, particularly his efforts to alleviate poverty and support marginalized communities. He mentioned learning valuable lessons from the Indian leader during his short stay, adding that he felt proud to be in India and wished for “prosperity, peace, and greatness” for the people of India.
The visit also marks a momentous occasion in the history of Indo-Indonesian relations, as President Subianto’s visit aligns with the 75th anniversary of Indonesia’s first participation as the Chief Guest at India’s Republic Day, a tradition that started with President Sukarno in 1950.
In a statement from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Droupadi Murmu welcomed President Subianto and thanked him for attending India’s Republic Day celebrations. She reflected on the enduring ties between the two nations, underscoring the democratic and cultural bonds that have lasted for over seven decades.
The signing of these MOUs and the ongoing diplomatic engagements signal a promising future for the India-Indonesia partnership, with an emphasis on mutual growth and shared values.
