Gorakhpur, India — Authorities in Gorakhpur have moved quickly to contain a bird flu outbreak after avian influenza was confirmed in five localities across the city. The National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases in Bhopal identified the presence of both H5N1 and H9N2 strains in poultry samples, prompting immediate public health measures.
The affected areas include Jhungia Bazar, Aluminium Factory area, Taramandal, Bhagat Chauraha, and Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan Zoological Park.
