JSY has made a significant impact in the last decade by increasing institutional delivery from 38.7% in NHFS-3 to 78.9% in NFHS-4. In comparison to NFHS-4 data, the first phase of NFHS-5 (2019-20) data released for 22 States/UTs shows that there has been a rise in institutional births in all 22 States/UTs and the percentage of institutional births is more than 90% in 14 States/UTs.
