In a bid to tackle the growing health concerns of hypertension and diabetes, Illness to Wellness and Yolohealth joined forces to organize a two-day health camp at Birla Mandir on April 13 and 14, 2024. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preventive health measures and encourage individuals to undergo preemptive testing.
Rising Health Concerns: Hypertension and diabetes have emerged as significant health challenges in recent years, fueled by sedentary lifestyles and poor dietary habits. The misconception that these ailments only afflict older individuals has led to a lack of vigilance among the populace, allowing these conditions to escalate to alarming levels. The resulting health burden, both on individuals and the healthcare system, underscores the urgent need for proactive measures.
Camp Highlights: The camp witnessed a substantial turnout, with participants undergoing various health assessments. Shockingly, over 20 percent of attendees were found to be hypertensive, obese, or pre-diabetic, underscoring the pervasive impact of unhealthy lifestyle choices on public health. Many were unaware of their condition, highlighting the importance of regular health screenings in detecting potential risks before symptoms manifest.
Advocating for Timely Testing: Anil Rajput, Chairperson of the ASSOCHAM National CSR Council, emphasized the critical role of timely diagnosis in preventing and managing such diseases. He lauded the efforts of Illness to Wellness and Yolohealth in organizing health camps to educate citizens about the importance of regular health check-ups and the risks of neglecting preventive measures.
Innovative Health Solutions: At the camp, Yolohealth showcased its HealthATM, a cutting-edge health assessment tool that leverages technology to deliver accurate health reports. The HealthATM combines IoT-enabled medical devices with yolohealth’s proprietary software, enabling individuals to access primary and preventive healthcare services conveniently.
Commitment to Health and Well-being: The Illness to Wellness campaign, initiated in 2014, remains dedicated to promoting health and well-being through education, collaboration, and sustainable health practices. From organizing health camps and awareness campaigns to hosting webinars on key health topics, the campaign continues to maximize outreach and impact, striving to create a healthier and more informed society.
Towards a Healthier Future: As the nation strives towards the vision of a ‘Swasth Bharat’ (Healthy India), initiatives like the health camp at Birla Mandir play a crucial role in empowering individuals to prioritize their health and adopt preventive measures. By fostering a culture of proactive health management, these initiatives pave the way for a healthier and more resilient society.
