In pursuit of the “Health for All” policy advocated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the fourth Central Government hospital, the “Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) Hospital,” was inaugurated today in Najafgarh, Delhi. The inauguration was led by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, in the presence of Shri Pravesh Saheb Singh, Member of Parliament (West Delhi).

Addressing the audience, Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the visionary approach of Prime Minister Modi in establishing this world-class hospital, emphasizing the integral connection between health and development. He underscored that every citizen, regardless of their economic status, now has access to healthcare, ensuring that no one suffers due to lack of affordable health services.

Dr. Mandaviya emphasized that healthcare provision is fundamental to sustainable development, citing India’s rich history in medical sciences. He stressed the government’s commitment to building a robust healthcare system accessible to all, with this hospital in Najafgarh catering to a population of 13.65 lakh residing in 73 surrounding villages.

The hospital will offer a range of services including medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, ICU, NICU, PICU, ENT, ophthalmology, blood bank, and various diagnostic and radiological facilities. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure that the people of Najafgarh receive top-notch healthcare services at their doorstep.

The inclusion of Ayush services aligns with India’s holistic integrated healthcare approach. Dr. Mandaviya also highlighted the government’s efforts in making a wide array of medicines accessible through initiatives like PM Jan Aushadhi Yojana and the addition of 384 drugs to the national list of essential medicines.

Shri Pravesh Saheb Singh expressed gratitude to the Union Government for realizing the long-standing aspiration of the people of Najafgarh in the form of the RHTC hospital. He mentioned that while initially planned as a 100-bed hospital, its capacity was later expanded to accommodate 163 beds.

Background:

The RHTC hospital, first approved in 2018 in Najafgarh under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, will serve the healthcare needs of Najafgarh and its surrounding villages. With 163 beds, the hospital offers a range of services including OPD, Radiology, 24 X 7 Emergency services, Medicine ward, Gynecology ward, Pediatric ward, Surgery and ICU.

Specialized services will be provided to women, children, and patients with mental health conditions. The hospital will also feature AYUSH, dental, and family medicine specialists. Various other specialists including surgeons, pediatricians, ophthalmologists, dermatologists, gynecologists, ENT, and orthopedic specialists will be available. The hospital is also equipped with solar energy systems and modern facilities for fire control, building management, and water treatment.

Smt. Roli Singh, Additional Secretary, MoHFW; Dr. G. Kausalya, Director, RHTC, and senior officials of the Health Ministry were also present at the inauguration.
