New Delhi, June 15, 2025:
Thousands of medical graduates from Madhya Pradesh face potential disqualification from the National Eligibility-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2025 due to administrative delays in the publication of their MBBS final year results. The current internship completion deadline for NEET PG 2025 is set at July 31, 2025. However, because of late results from Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU), many students will be unable to finish their mandatory 12-month internships by this date, jeopardizing their eligibility for the crucial postgraduate entrance exam.

The United Doctors Front (UDF), representing affected students, has formally petitioned Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and the National Medical Commission (NMC) to extend the internship completion cutoff to August 31, 2025. UDF President Dr. Lakshya Mittal emphasized that the delay was purely administrative and not due to any fault or negligence on the part of the students. He noted that the MBBS Final Part-II (Supplementary & Ex.) Examination results were only declared on August 16, 2024, which led to internships commencing as late as August 19, 2024, or later in some colleges. This timing makes it impossible for affected students to complete their internships by the existing July deadline.

The UDF’s letter, supported by core members Dr. Amit Vyas, Dr. Yagika Pareek, and Dr. Rakesh Beniwal, highlighted the risk of ineligibility for hundreds of otherwise qualified students. The organization called for the NMC to consider the recent rescheduling of NEET PG 2025—now set for August 3, 2025—and to extend the internship deadline accordingly. The plea underscores the importance of fairness and academic parity, arguing that students should not be penalized for administrative delays beyond their control.

Official internship commencement confirmations from college authorities have been submitted to support the students’ case. The UDF expressed hope that the NMC would act swiftly in the interest of transparency and student welfare.

Dr. Mittal stated, “We request the National Medical Commission (NMC) to take a sympathetic view and extend the deadline to 31st August 2025,” reiterating that the issue stems from administrative, not academic, shortcomings.

The call for an extension comes as NEET PG 2025 was recently postponed from June 15 to August 3, following a Supreme Court directive to conduct the exam in a single shift for fairness.
