New Delhi, India – A 20-year-old woman, identified as Ms. Manasvi, has died at a private hospital in Shalimar Bagh, northwest Delhi, sparking allegations of medical negligence from her grieving family. Ms. Manasvi, a resident of Tri Nagar, was admitted to the hospital on March 10th for treatment of a fever. She passed away on March 16th.

According to Delhi Police, the family has lodged a formal complaint alleging that despite paying ₹18 lakh for medical treatment, Ms. Manasvi received inadequate care. The family’s complaint has prompted a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

“We have registered a case and initiated an inquiry based on the family’s complaint,” a police official stated. “The body has been preserved at BJRM Hospital for post-mortem, which will be conducted by a medical board.”

The post-mortem examination is crucial in determining the exact cause of Ms. Manasvi’s death. Authorities are also scrutinizing medical records and recording statements from hospital staff and the family to ascertain if any lapses in care occurred.

The investigation will focus on whether the hospital adhered to standard medical protocols and if the treatment provided was appropriate for the patient’s condition. The findings of the post-mortem and the police investigation will play a critical role in determining if any medical negligence contributed to Ms. Manasvi’s death.

The case has raised concerns about the quality of care provided by private hospitals and the financial burden placed on families during medical emergencies.
