New Delhi, July 22, 2025 — In a major step towards strengthening public healthcare infrastructure, the Delhi government will inaugurate 30 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs this month, Health and Family Welfare Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh announced on Monday. These facilities form part of the larger goal to make affordable and accessible healthcare available to every citizen in the national capital.

Rapid Expansion of Healthcare Services

Minister Singh also revealed that by the end of August, an additional 75 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are scheduled to be launched, further accelerating the government’s ambitious plan. At a recent meeting with senior health officials and representatives from the PWD, MCD, DDA, and NDMC, Singh instructed them to identify vacant spaces—such as community centres, banquet halls, market shops, polyclinics, and unused residential areas—as potential sites for these health centres.

  • Sites Identified: 429 Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) sites have already been earmarked, with 98 receiving no-objection certificates.

  • Feasibility Assessments: Currently, evaluations are ongoing at over 950 locations citywide.

  • Long-Term Goal: The Delhi government aims to establish a total of 1,139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.

Singh emphasized the comprehensive nature of this initiative, stating the roadmap also includes opening these facilities in rural cluster development centres throughout Delhi.

Commitment to World-Class Healthcare

“From Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to medical colleges and government hospitals, the Delhi Government will ensure that there is no shortage of funds in delivering world-class healthcare services,” Singh assured.

Pensioners’ Welfare Measures

In a related development, the Delhi government has taken steps to enhance the welfare of DVB-ETBF (2002) pensioners under the Pension Trust. A proposal has been submitted to raise the gratuity limit from ₹20 lakh to ₹25 lakh. According to Power Minister Ashish Sood, the financial implication of this increase is expected to be around ₹16 crore for the period from January 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, with another ₹15 crore set aside for dearness allowance and future increments. The proposal is now under consideration by the Board of Trustees.
