Kolkata, June 25, 2025 — The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday that it has no objection to the plea by the parents of the woman junior doctor, who was raped and murdered at R.G. Kar Medical College in August last year, to survey the crime scene themselves.
The victim’s parents, represented by senior advocate Phiroze Edulji, had approached the single-judge bench of Justice Tirthankar Ghosh with two appeals: a request for a fast-track hearing and permission to survey the crime scene. The court, considering that the CBI’s investigation into the larger conspiracy behind the crime is ongoing, sought the agency’s view on the matter. The CBI’s counsel stated that the investigating team had no objection to the parents’ request.
