In an era dominated by digital technologies, parenting faces an unprecedented set of challenges as children navigate a world saturated with online content. Baatu Tech, a leading Smart Parenting Solutions provider in India, has unveiled the findings of a recent survey that spotlight the growing concerns of Indian parents regarding screen addiction, gaming habits, and exposure to adult content among children.
The survey, conducted among 3000 participants, disclosed that an overwhelming 95% of Indian parents are deeply troubled by the issue of screen addiction. Additionally, 80% of respondents expressed worries about gaming addiction, and 70% were concerned about the consumption of adult content by their children.
Research from the past has consistently indicated that excessive screen time can have adverse effects on children’s physical and mental health, impede cognitive development, and hinder social interactions. Of particular concern is the escalating trend of gaming addiction among children, with a study published in the Journal of Behavioral Addictions revealing that approximately 3-4% of children worldwide experience problematic gaming behaviors. Such addiction can lead to poor academic performance, disrupted sleep patterns, and decreased physical activity. Furthermore, prolonged exposure to violent or aggressive game content has been associated with increased aggression and desensitization to real-life violence.
Parents and educators are urged to be vigilant about the signs of gaming addiction and take proactive measures to establish a healthy balance between gaming and other activities in children’s lives. Promoting alternative forms of engagement and setting clear boundaries can assist children in developing a well-rounded approach to technology, thereby preventing the negative consequences of excessive gaming.
Sandeep Kumar, Founder and Managing Director of Baatu Tech, expressed the company’s commitment to addressing these pressing concerns. “Baatu Tech understands the worries of Indian parents and is dedicated to tackling the issue of screen addiction and inappropriate content consumption among children,” Kumar stated. “We believe that parenting in the digital age requires constant vigilance, open and honest communication, and a well-informed approach. Our Smart Parenting Solutions empower parents to foster digital literacy while safeguarding their children’s well-being.”
Baatu Tech’s initiative aims to equip parents with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the digital landscape, ensuring a healthy and balanced use of technology for the younger generation.
