Additionally, 80% of respondents expressed worries about gaming addiction, and 70% were concerned about the consumption of adult content by their children.

Of particular concern is the escalating trend of gaming addiction among children, with a study published in the Journal of Behavioral Addictions revealing that approximately 3-4% of children worldwide experience problematic gaming behaviors. Such addiction can lead to poor academic performance, disrupted sleep patterns, and decreased physical activity. Furthermore, prolonged exposure to violent or aggressive game content has been associated with increased aggression and desensitization to real-life violence.
Parents and educators are urged to be vigilant about the signs of gaming addiction and take proactive measures to establish a healthy balance between gaming and other activities in children’s lives. Promoting alternative forms of engagement and setting clear boundaries can assist children in developing a well-rounded approach to technology, thereby preventing the negative consequences of excessive gaming.
