Amaravati, March 9, 2025: In a bid to encourage larger families, Kalisetti Appala Naidu, the Member of Parliament (MP) from Vizianagaram, has announced a financial incentive for women giving birth to a third child. The initiative offers ₹50,000 to each woman who delivers a third child, with an additional cow provided if the newborn is a boy. MP Appala Naidu stated that these incentives would be funded from his personal salary.
This announcement aligns with remarks made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President Chandrababu Naidu, who has advocated for incentives to promote higher birth rates. The Chief Minister expressed concerns over the region’s aging population and emphasized the need for long-term demographic management.

Additionally, government schemes such as Maharashtra’s “Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana” provide financial incentives for the birth and education of girl children, aiming to promote gender equality and support families.
