In a momentous visit to the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Vijaypur in Jammu, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, praised the institution as a “beacon of hope” for the people of Jammu & Kashmir, Leh, and neighboring states such as Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Accompanied by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Science & Technology and the Ministry of Earth Sciences, along with other dignitaries, the visit highlighted the significant strides made under the current administration.
Shri Nadda commended the transformative impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting the comprehensive development witnessed in Jammu & Kashmir. “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, not just health, but every sector has experienced immense growth,” he stated. He emphasized the need for collaborative synergy between various branches of medical sciences, underscoring the complementary strengths of allopathy and Ayurveda in enhancing healthcare outcomes.
Addressing the faculty, residents, staff, and students of AIIMS Jammu, Shri Nadda lauded their dedication and hard work. He encouraged them to persist in their pursuit of knowledge, service, and research, highlighting the importance of continued excellence and innovation in healthcare and education. “AIIMS Jammu is an institution that embodies the aspirations and dreams of countless individuals. It’s a beacon of hope not only for the people of J&K, but also for that of Leh, and other neighboring states,” he remarked, assuring full support to the institution in ensuring better healthcare access for millions.
The visit included a tour of various facilities, showcasing the state-of-the-art infrastructure and technological advancements at AIIMS Jammu. The Digital Library, equipped with e-books, e-journals, and professional journals, features research carrels, an automated book issue and deposit device, and an RFID security gate. Shri Nadda also visited the modern Lecture Theatres, which are equipped with Smart Boards, enhancing the learning experience for students.
The Union Health Minister inspected the Outpatient Department (OPD), including registration counters and an Indoor Navigation System for patients. Observing the world-class facilities and services available, he expressed confidence that AIIMS Vijaypur, with its skilled doctors and aspiring medical professionals, is set to elevate healthcare standards in the region.
The visit underscored the government’s commitment to advancing healthcare infrastructure and fostering an “AIIMS culture” characterized by selflessness, dedication, competency, integrity, innovation, and trust.
