Telangana, India – In an inspiring tale of perseverance and dedication, Dr. Neeli Ramchander, a seasoned paediatrician from Nizamabad, Telangana, has successfully cleared the NEET PG 2024 exam at the age of 62. With over three decades of medical practice, Dr. Ramchander is now preparing to embark on a new academic journey, pursuing an MD in Pharmacology at a government medical college.
Returning to Student Life After Three Decades
Dr. Ramchander, a highly respected figure in paediatrics, has devoted more than 30 years to treating young patients. Despite his established career, he harbored an unfulfilled aspiration—to deepen his medical knowledge through an MD degree. His determination and hard work have now earned him a well-deserved seat, demonstrating that learning and growth have no age limit.
A Dream Finally Fulfilled
Driven by an enduring passion for medicine, Dr. Ramchander is ready to embrace the challenges of student life once again. Over the years, he has held esteemed positions, including serving as the National Vice-President of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics in 2014 and founding the Telangana Pediatric Association. His dedication to his field has been recognized through numerous accolades, including the National Red Cross Gold Medal (2017-2018). Yet, despite these accomplishments, his dream of pursuing an MD remained unfulfilled—until now.
A Lifelong Commitment to Medicine
Dr. Ramchander’s journey in the medical field began in 1982 when he initially pursued a BPharma course before transitioning to an MBBS at Kakatiya University. His specialization in paediatrics was further honed through a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) between 1991 and 1993. However, his professional commitments prevented him from pursuing an MD earlier. Now, at 62, he is finally set to achieve his long-cherished goal, proving that true passion for learning transcends age.
