The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and the Model Rules framed thereunder provide for the rehabilitation and reintegration of children through sponsorship and foster-care, inter alia. The Ministry is implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme namely Child Protection Services (CPS) in partnership with the State Governments/UT Administrations for delivering the institutional and non-institutional care as stipulated under the JJ Act. As per the Scheme guidelines, an amount of Rs.2000/- per month per child is available for non institutional care (sponsorship, foster care, aftercare) subject to the limit of Rs. 10 lakh per district.

As per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report available at their website i.e. https://ncrb.gov.in, State-wise, case registered under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006 during the last three year is Annexed.

This information was given by the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
