On the eighth Ayurveda Day, Union Ayush Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal emphasized the significance of Ayurveda amidst the challenges of nuclear power, pesticides, and a polluted environment. The Ministry of Ayush has diligently established over eight thousand wellness centers nationwide, and to enhance service delivery, the Ayush Grid Project was launched and reinforced.

Ayurveda Day, observed annually on Dhanvantari Jayanti, has gained global recognition through consistent events. With the demand for medicinal plant cultivation escalating globally, the eighth Ayurveda Day saw the creation of a micro website supported by approximately twenty crore people worldwide. Shri Sonowal, in his address, highlighted the impactful global campaign ‘Ayurveda for One Health’ and the G-20 meeting’s theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ leaving an indelible impression on the world.

Special guest Haryana Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Gyan Chand Gupta commended the Ministry of Ayush for the expansive celebration of Ayurveda Day and acknowledged the Haryana Government’s efforts in Ayurvedic development.

Union Minister of State for Ayush, Shri Munjapara Mahendrabhai, noted collaborative efforts with institutions like IIT, AIIMS, and CSIR to understand the molecular properties of Ayurvedic medicines. The collaboration with ISRO for mapping medicinal plants across India was highlighted. Ayurveda, extending beyond human health, encompasses Vrikshayurveda and Animal Ayurveda, contributing to a holistic Ayurvedic environment. The successful regulation of the Ayurveda diet by FSSAI was recognized as a significant achievement.

Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, shared data from the microsite, revealing the engagement of 20 crore people in 20 thousand activities across 102 countries during the month-long campaign for the eighth Ayurveda Day.

Various dignitaries, including Additional Chief Secretary of Haryana Dr. G. Anupama, Padma Bhushan Vaidya Triguna Ji, and Ayurveda Advisor of Ministry of AYUSH, Vaidya Manoj Nesri, addressed the program. National Dhanvantari Ayurveda Awards were conferred on individuals for distinguished service in Ayurveda during the event.

The two-day Ayurveda Day program concluded with a call to transform the widespread message of Ayurveda into a global movement through public participation and establish Ayurveda on the global stage.
