Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu – May 6, 2025: An 18-year-old student from Palladam in Tiruppur district has gone missing a day after appearing for the NEET UG exam, leaving behind a heartfelt note promising his family that he will become a doctor and return home.
D Sangeerthan, the eldest son of M Dhanabal, a powerloom weaver from Vadugapalayam Pudur, had just completed his Class 12 education in the 2023-2024 academic year and appeared for the highly competitive NEET exam on Sunday, May 4. According to reports, Sangeerthan scored 230 marks in his first attempt but continued to prepare for the exam with determination.
Despite appearing calm and normal after the exam, Sangeerthan was found missing from his room the following morning. His parents discovered a note in which he wrote, “Don’t worry about me and don’t search for me, I will definitely become a doctor and return home. I have taken the necessary books and documents for that.”
Shaken by the disappearance and the note, his parents promptly lodged a complaint with the Palladam police station. M Dhanabal told reporters, “We never pressured our son; he studied by his own choice. He told us he had done well in the exam on Sunday. We believe he left home fearing low marks. He broke his SIM card and took only his phone, without carrying any money.”
Police are currently conducting a search operation to locate Sangeerthan, appealing to the public for any information that could help in finding the young aspirant.
Community and Authorities Respond
